COVID-19 Updates

Important COVID-19 Information

  • Windsor Care Centers are actively delivering the COVID-19 vaccine to its staff. Windsor is likewise committed to educating its staff to the benefits of vaccinating and to providing access to the vaccine to all employees and residents. By minimizing the risk of transmission, Windsor is working hard to protect its residents, families and employees from contracting the COVID-19 virus.
  • A dedicated COVID-19 task force, including Regional Clinical Directors and the Directors of Nursing at each location, provides written materials and verbal education to their staff. To further the reach of its message, Windsor recently released a professionally produced video promoting the benefits of vaccinations. The video can be viewed on Windsor’s Vimeo channel at https://vimeo.com/495877252.
  • In the words of Dr. Jameel Hourani, Windsor’s Chief Medical Director, the message could not be simpler: “Vaccinating will save lives – the lives of our patients, the lives of their families and the lives of our staff. Get vaccinated. It’s the right thing to do.”
  • Windsor Visitation Policy (effective June 1, 2021) –
  1. Outdoor Visits may occur in outdoor locations such as our patios and garden areas. 2 visitors are allowed at a time. Children and pets may visit under certain circumstances.
  2. Indoor Visits are permitted in a common space or in a resident’s room, based on current CDC Guidelines. Only 1 visitor is permitted inside.
  3. All visitors entering a Windsor care center must be screened for fever and other COVID-19 symptoms, wear appropriate facial covering or other Personal Protective Equipment, perform hand hygiene when in the facility and practice social distancing per CDC Core Principles.
  4. Ask us about special options that may apply if you and your loved one are fully vaccinated.
  5. Due to evolving CDC guidelines, we encourage you to speak to our Admissions Team to learn about our new rules. Please schedule your visit today.
Exceptions to restrictions:

When should nursing homes consider transferring a resident with suspected or confirmed infection with COVID-19 to a hospital?

Nursing homes with residents suspected of having COVID-19 infection should contact their local health department. Residents infected with COVID-19 may vary in severity from lack of symptoms to mild or severe symptoms or fatality. Initially, symptoms may be mild and not require transfer to a hospital as long as the facility can follow the infection prevention and control practices recommended by CDC. Facilities without an airborne infection isolation room (AIIR) are not required to transfer the resident assuming: 1) the resident does not require a higher level of care and 2) the facility can adhere to the rest of the infection prevention and control practices recommended for caring for a resident with COVID-19.
